Chopped Green Chillies on Vanilla Ice Cream by Sam Mukherjee

Loved this book. The story is about the life and times of a boy and his 5 friends. It covers their time between 13 or 14 years right upto the time they all graduate and go off for higher studies. Every single character in this book is worth enjoying. So is every single event. It is not necessary where this story is happening. You can find most of these things anywhere round you, if you care to really look. you can relate and so you will enjoy. At least, it gave me almost the same sense of 'feel-good' that I felt whenever I read an R.K Narayan book. Definitely will be hunting down anymore works of this
author. Oh and btw, I loved the book cover too.

Sam Mukherjee.. Senior write in Globalom Media in Canada. Thankyou Mr. Mukherjee. For this good work. will defnitely check your works again.

31 - Upendra Namburi

I am done reading this one. It's a page turner definitely. Trails and tribulations of a camphorised life-style. 31 days did pack a punch. the stress, tension, worries, uncertainity. a very good read. The one complaint I have about this book is that once I was done with it, I did not get a sense of completion. Somewhere something was missing. It took me full 8 hours to settle down after I was done with this book. But still I enjoyed it.

Mr. Namburi, you have already made my author's list. Thank you for this work. see you again.

Saraswati Park - Anjali Joseph

Just started this one. oh man !! the protogonist has lots of shades of me in it. His love for books is enough. Story is slow moving, has a distinct western classic style. Let me see where it goes. It is good so far. I may come with more notes when I am done with it.

Anjali is an award winning writer and this book is a winner. Will she make my author list? I don't know. Need to wait and see. at any rate I like the book presentation - man with a bycycle (again). watch this space for more.

Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm - Kate Douglas Wiggin

I have no idea why this lady's 'Rebecca..' did not figure in our school days. It qualifies in all terms. Along with so many works that we have made. Rebecca's characterization is so complex. its a worthy book alongside others authors of the classic era. i have already read 25% of this book and I have seen the distinct style of the classic 18th century works.

Miss Kate is definitely worth investigating which I will be doing. Will she make my author's list? Let me wait and see.

Eva - A Ghost Story

Saw a new book and wanted to try it. A ghost story "Eva A Ghost Story" by Mike Emmett. People involved in this book are in the publishing world. Story about the spirit of a little girl occupying her parents office. The rendition is different from others.

This is a mixture of crime and paranormal. To me, other than Eva's ghost itself, there is nothing frightening to put it under the horror section. But it was the crime that was horrifying in itself.
